We (Alex and Ruth) founded Rudy's as a mother-daughter partnership, as we both have a passion for making, eating, and serving good and wholesome food. We have a knack for putting the right (although sometimes unexpected) ingredients together to make something delicious.
In addition to our passion for healthy food and eating, we are both dedicated to living an overall healthy lifestyle. Ruth, as a certified yoga instructor and practitioner, attempts to incorporate rounded and balanced philosophies into all aspects of life.
In 2012, our home was struck by Hurricane Sandy, leaving our family without a first floor and without an operating kitchen for nearly a year and a half. During that time, we developed lots of makeshift recipes. Our whole family would tell Mom (a.ka. Ruth a.k.a. Rudy) that they couldn't believe the food that she could make without a functioning kitchen. We decided that once we were back on our feet, we would open our very own kitchen on wheels.
